About the Library

Founded in 1893, the Montclair Free Public Library serves the 38,977 citizens of Montclair New Jersey. There are two facilities. The Main Library has been at its current location at 50 South Fullerton Avenue since 1955. Since the remodeling of 1997, it has 55,000 square feet on three floors. The Bellevue Avenue Branch, built in 1914, is at 185 Bellevue Avenue and has 4,800 square feet. With 195,876 volumes, an annual circulation of 312,743 and 308,654 visitors a year, it remains an important part of the Montclair community.
