BARISTANET - Baristanet was born in May 2004 and soon after emerged as a leader in both hyperlocal blogging and the online citizen journalism movement. Baristanet receives more than 9,000 visits a day and is run by veteran journalists Debbie Galant and Liz George. It has inspired local news sites in Pittsburgh, Brooklyn, New Haven, Watertown, MA and Red Bank, NJ. In March, Baristanet partnered with Montclair Kids to create Barista Kids, an indispensable guide for local parents.

The biggest contributors to the site are our readers -- their active participation has turned Baristanet into a true online community and the destination for breaking local news, airing opinionated views, and yes, poking fun at suburbia whenever possible.



MONTCLAIR ARTS COUNCIL - Montclair has long been proud of its unique character as a vibrant arts community and a dynamic cultural destination. The Montclair Arts Council was formed in 2005 to enhance that reputation by advancing the arts, advocating for and supporting artists and cultural organizations, and encouraging economic development through the arts. As a nonprofit organization, MAC has taken on the role of building links within the arts community, between the arts community and Montclair residents, and between artists and Montclair’s business community.

MONTCLAIR ART MUSEUM- A notable community institution with an international reputation. Situated amid a beautiful, tree-lined residential area of Montclair, NeA notable community institution with an international reputation, the Montclair Art Museum is still located in the same—though now thrice-expanded—building in which it opened in 1914.

MONTCLAIR HISTORICAL SOCIETY - The Montclair Historical Society (MHS), a nonprofit 501(c) 3 organization, promotes preservation, study and appreciation of local history. MHS was originally founded in 1965 to save the Israel Crane House, a Federal Revival style landmark home built by a local entrepreneur in 1796. It was relocated from Glen Ridge Avenue to its current location on 110 Orange Road. Located next to the Israel Crane house’s new location is the Nathaniel Crane House. Built about 1818, it was donated to MHS in 1973 and together, the two Crane Houses served the public as a historic house museum, museum shop and space for demonstrations, lectures and classes interpreting Montclair’s past.

The Montclair Times is New Jersey's largest-circulation paid weekly newspaper covering one municipality. Established in 1877, The Montclair Times is Montclair's oldest business that continues into the 21st century.

The Times' journalists diligently and objectively cover news and features on Montclair's residents, neighborhoods and organizations. Along with providing up-to-date news, The Times provides background and context. In every issue, The Times delivers comprehensive news articles, features, photographs and entire sections devoted to Montclair education, sports, arts, religion, community activities and public safety information. The Times' "Bookshelf" section is devoted to authors residing in, or coming to, Montclair. Each week, The Times proudly publishes letters to the editor written by your neighbors and you. Four times during the past decade, The Montclair Times has won The Newspaper of Excellence Award, or the "best large weekly in New Jersey award, issued by the New Jersey Press Association.

YOGI BERRA MUSEUM - Our Vision is to provide a creative and enjoyable educational environment for all learners, especially children. We particularly choose to focus on children so that they may understand how baseball, our national pastime, and other sports, teach social and cultural values that are as important off the field as they are on.
