As with everything else in life, knowledge is power. Just as it is important to know oneself well and what one has to offer an employer, it is equally important to understand what is involved in particular careers: what are the needed skills, education, earnings and so on.
Interview success often depends on being able to relate one's skills and accomplishments to those of the position sought. Knowledge of the career developed from research at sites such as those that follow can make all the difference

- The Riley Guide's Career Information section - this guide is an encyclopedia of info about occupations and provides links to multiple info sites
- Vault - the extensive system provides industry overviews and message boards, company research, and career advice
