The Montclair Library is proud to present “Harlem on My Mind”, created and performed by Julia Breanetta Simpson, and directed by Shaunelle Perry. Take a seat in our lounge, and enjoy this one- woman show, featuring the music of Duke Ellington, Thomas "Fats" Waller, Bessie Smith, Ethel Waters and other musicians popular during the Harlem Renaissance.

Julia Breanetta Simpson holds a BFA from Syracuse University and has appeared on tour and at regional theaters as well as in stock, dinner theater, off-off-Broadway theaters and cabaret venues. She has toured in productions of For Colored Girls; Ain't Misbehavin'; One Mo' Time, and Purlie; she originated the role of "Hennie" in the world premiere of When the Nightingale Sings.
This program is offered through a contract award, "Senior Spaces", from the INFOLINK Regional Library Cooperative. One of the goals of the award is to enhance programming provided to our older adults.
