Peter Biedermann in ConcertAdult Events 09/25/2019, 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM Main Library – Auditorium
Peter Biedermann is a solo instrumental guitarist based in Green Valley, AZ that has been composing and performing for over 40 years and will be appearing for the first time in the Montclair Public Library. The common thread throughout his musical background is crossing the boundaries of music genres. This hybrid, contemporary style melds elements of American and European folk with jazz and blues shadings; underpinned by subtle ambient electronics. PB began focusing on performing original solo instrumentals beginning in 2000. The music is now being presented in intimate settings such as libraries, art galleries, house concerts, churches etc. PB will be focusing on new pieces as well as material from his latest recording ‘Tales From The Desert’ on a variety of guitars in unique tunings. The program encourages questions from the audience and will also include some of the history and evolution of steel string guitar playing over the last 50+ years. Fans of fellow guitarists such as Michael Hedges, the British school (Bert Jansch, John Renbourn, Davy Graham), Alex de Grassi and Pierre Bensusan will enjoy this music.
This concert is free and open to the public. Registration is recommended.Click here for more details...

More about the museum:
This 30-acre National Historic Landmark is the centerpiece of Gustav Stickley’s early 20th century country estate. The Stickley family’s home, known as the Log House, was built in 1911 and is one of the most significant landmarks of the American Arts and Crafts movement. It has been restored to its 1911 appearance and is operated by the not-for-profit organization The Stickley Museum at Craftsman Farms as a historic house museum. The Museum’s growing collection includes numerous Stickley furnishings, many which are original to the Log House, plus textiles, pottery, metalwork, and archival materials. In addition to these priceless objects on view in the Log House, an original Stickley bungalow has been furnished with touchable Arts and Crafts furnishings. A visit to this bungalow, known as North Cottage, allows visitors the opportunity sit in the chairs and fully experience Arts and Crafts living.
