Mila the dog is an avid reader and wants you to read your favorite book to her! Mila is a 3-year-old cocker spaniel and lives with her human family and dog-sister, Phoebe, in Montclair. She loves chasing squirrels, tummy rubs, roasted chicken and playing fetch-the-ball. But her favorite things are cuddles and kids.
Registration required (registration begins Monday, March 26).

Get a free haircut when you read a book out loud!
Marc Williams of Young’s World of Beauty, 307 Orange Rd # A, Montclair, is graciously offering to cut young readers’ hair for free if they read a book while getting their haircut. Just go to his barber shop during listed hours and tell him you are ready to read for a haircut (please call ahead).
Participating youngsters will get to enter Montclair Public Library’s monthly drawing for Movie Tickets, Comics, Books & other prizes and you can pick out your free, new book! We are very grateful to East Side Mags and watchung booksellers for donating raffle prizes.

The Book Doctors: Editors Show Writers How to Get Successfully Published
WRITERS ALERT! Pick the brain of professional editors from the hot new publishing book: What Editors Do: The Art, Craft, and Business of Book Editing. Editors describe, in nuts and bolts details, what writers can do to help themselves get successfully published. From insider editing tricks of the trade, to working with an editor successfully, to navigating the stormy seas of publishing, this event will entertain and edify.
About the presenters:
Montclair’s own Book Doctors, David Henry Sterry & Arielle Eckstut, have helped hundreds of writers get successfully published. They are co-authors of The Essential Guide to Getting Your Book Published: How To Write It, Sell It, and Market It… Successfully (Workman, 2010). Arielle has been a literary agent for over 20 years at The Levine Greenberg Literary Agency. She is the author of nine books and the co-founder of the iconic brand, LittleMissMatched. David is the best-selling author of 16 books. His first book has been translated into 10 languages and his latest book was featured on the cover of the Sunday New York Times Book Review. They’ve taught everywhere from Stanford University to Smith College. They’ve appeared everywhere from The New York Times to NPR’s Morning Edition to USA Today.
