Preschool Balance Workshop: A Leap Into Science EndeavorKid & Family Events 01/25/2019, 4:00 PM - 4:45 PM
Children explore the concept of balance by listening to a story (Balancing Act by Ellen Stoll Walsh), balancing with their bodies, and creating balanced structures on simple teeter-totters. Leap into Science is a nationwide program from The Franklin Institute Science Museum that integrates open-ended science activities with children’s books, for children and families to learn together.
Registration required (registration begins Wednesday, December 26).

Therapy Dog Visit: Meet Cruz!Kid & Family Events 01/26/2019, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Come meet and read with Cruz! Cruz is a retired racing greyhound! Greyhounds are the second fastest land animal (behind the cheetah) and can run up to 45 miles an hour. He lived in Florida, ran 104 races and won 17 of them. Now that he’s retired (at age 5), he enjoys walks, car rides, lots of naps, and reading in the nice quiet library.
Registration required: limited registration; each reader will have 5 minutes with Cruz. (Registration begins December 26)

Cultivate a love of literature with the Books & Bites Reading Club! We will read and discuss a new book, followed by a themed craft and a tasty snack. Don’t miss out on the fun! For students in Grades 1-3, books are available to check out on your library card after December 26. Please advise of any food allergies.
