Jersey Medicare beneficiaries who have problems with, or questions about their
health insurance. SHIP is a statewide program sponsored by the New Jersey Department
of Health and Senior Services with major funding from the U.S. Department of Health
and Human Services' Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The group was started by Ronald Murphy and Harold Bell in the early 1990’s. Selections are books focusing primarily on African American subjects or by African American authors, as well as recommended and popular titles. Sponsored by the Adult School of Montclair and held at the Montclair Public Library, the book discussion group allows avid readers to discuss themes, plots, and characters of selected books.
