Help Shape the Future of Your Library! Published on: August 16, 2017

Dear Montclair Public Library lovers:

Help us plan the future of Montclair Public Library by taking our survey.

Next year marks the 125th Birthday of Montclair Public Library. As we look back on 125 years of service we want to make sure we have an understanding of what our community wants. Are the services we offer what you need? Do we offer them in the best way? Are there ways we can improve? How can we make our spaces suit your needs?

We have a strong, proud history of offering innovative and cutting edge services. 75 years ago we were one of the first Libraries in the country to have an automated circulation system (built by IBM). Today the Adult School (which became part of the Library two years ago) offers a vast array of community enrichment programming. We continue to have leading authors visit through our Open Books/Open Minds conversation series.

We want to hear from you and build on the past 125 years –it will only take a few minutes. Paper copies of our survey are also available at the Main Library and the Bellevue Avenue Branch.

Our Summer Reading theme has been “Build a Better Montclair.” The survey is just part of our larger plan to make Montclair Public Library better. In the fall we’ll have a few community meetings that you’ll be invited to participate in and share your thoughts. We hope you’ll join us.

In the meantime, if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions about the Library, please let me know. I look forward to hearing what you want for the future of Montclair Public Library.
