Our parenting collection includes over 500 books and many DVDs that provide a variety of information to parents and other patrons who work with children. The collection is housed in the Children’s Room, on the 3rd floor of the Main Library, so that parents and patrons can easily access these important materials while visiting the Library with children. The collection is further supported by the adult non-fiction collection on the 2nd floor, which gives patrons a sampling of the parenting information that the Library has to offer.
Subjects addressed in the parenting collection include: pregnancy, childbirth, baby names, newborn care, nutrition, early childhood literacy, potty training, single parenting, fatherhood, gay parenting, child development, raising teenagers, education, medical and mental health issues and homeschooling. You can also find the Montclair Public School curriculum in this collection for your reference.
