This African American Genealogy Meetup Group was started to support and share sources of information for family tree research. Multiple sources include the census, DNA, workshops, and guest speakers. The group’s name is “Sankofa,” a Ghanian word meaning ” to go back for that which you have forgotten.” How can we know where we are going if we don’t know where we’ve been? The group is open to all.
