Black Lace Blues concert

Join us for a free concert featuring Black Lace Blues! Originally formed in 2006 by drummer Bruce Tyler, and reformed in 2009, Black Lace Blues is a cross genre, cross generation Blues Rock and Reggae band, incorporating original material with contributions from everyone, as well as select quality covers that span a range of musical styles.
Bruce Tyler is a veteran of many of the New York area jazz, rock and blues venues. He has performed with some of the tri-state areas most recognizable musicians such as: Ted Curson, Chris White, Jim DeAngelis, Tony Signa and many others. He also led the band Tayata until its demise. “Tyler has years of experience behind the scenes as well as having worked in various support categories on the local and regional concert scene.” He is the co-founder of the Montclair Blues and Jazz Festival which ran for some 14 years. He has worked with many other organizations, including the Montclair African American Heritage Parade and Festival, First Night Montclair, Montclair’s Fourth of July Committee, The Montclair Arts Council, Montclair Arts and Cultural Alliance. He is the co-founder of the Montclair Jazz Project; serving as its former interim executive director, he is now involved with the ‘Collections and Research Committee. He has received numerous community service awards for his work in community arts. He is currently and instructor at Rocktec School of Music.
Max McMahon is an up and coming bassist/producer that manages to link the past to the present. His style is based in funk, but will put the power of soul in whatever he is playing, be it hip-hop, rock, blues, or R & B. Larry ‘The Lip’ Lipschultz is a 20-year Montclair, NJ resident, has been playing blues harmonica for 8 years. In addition to Black Lace blues, Larry plays regularly with the JRK project a rock blues band based in Bergen County.
Hilly Ephros has been a Montclair, NJ resident since 1990, playing with the Modest Goddess Choir, Ironbound and the Watchdog Blues Band before joining Black Lace Blues in 2011. Prior to that, he played and recorded music in NYC, Long Island and Philadelphia (when he was “Hilly from Philly”) with various artists in many venues including the famous Arthur’s Tavern in the Village. He is a surgeon by day, but at night, he prefers to operate in a blues, jazz or rock club.
Brian I Feldman is the past founder of B.D. Eyz, the Blues Rock Reggae Groove Band! Brian has performed with many musical projects and bands throughout the New England/New York State/NYC/NJ area, at such venues as The Bitter End, Kenny’s Castaways, CBGB’s, Dan Lynch’s, Downtown NYC and Trumpets Jazz Club, The Rat-Boston, Desmond’s Tavern, The Continental, Village Gate, Bunratty’s. Founded and/or Co-founded- Figure Eight- 1984, Street Level-1982, The Rockheads-1980, and Tarquin-1977. Past full time/part time member of: The Ed Stilles Blues Band, Onyx, Acid House Review, and Dick Money.
