Essex County Clerk’s Office – Passports and Notary Public Oaths Services
As a service to Essex County residents, the Clerk’s Office schedules afternoon and evening hours to conduct business in municipalities across Essex County. During these outreach times, they process Passports and Notary Public Oaths. Please call the Clerk’s office at 973-621-4920 with any questions. Plan to arrive at the outreach location at least 30 minutes before the stated closing time.

- Received it within the past 15 years; AND
- Were over age 16 when it was issued; AND
- Still have the same name as on passport (or you can legally document your name change).
Full requirements and instructions are available at the US Passport Services website. If you do not meet these requirements, you must follow the procedures for a new Passport application.
