Every Wednesday Matinee
On Wednesdays at 2 p.m., Montclair Public Library hosts The Every Wednesday Matinee, a film series presented in its auditorium. Movies about weather will be shown in October coinciding with Montclair Art Museum’s Weather Week.
The Perfect Storm (October 4) – Starring George Clooney, Mark Wahlberg, John C Reilly. An unusually intense storm pattern catches some commercial fishermen unaware and puts them in mortal danger. (2000, 130 minutes, color)
Into the Storm (October 11) – Starring Richard Armitage, Sarah Wayne Callies, Matt Walsh. Storm trackers, thrill-seekers, and everyday townspeople document an unprecedented onslaught of tornadoes touching down in the town of Silverton. (2014, 89 minutes, color)
White Squall (October 18) – Starring Jeff Bridges, Caroline Goodall, John Savage. Teenage boys discover discipline and camaraderie on an ill-fated sailing voyage. (1996, 129 minutes, color)
Twister (October 25) – Starring Helen Hunt, Bill Paxton, Cary Elwes. Bill and Jo Harding, advanced storm chasers on the brink of divorce, must join together to create an advanced weather alert system by putting themselves in the cross-hairs of extremely violent tornadoes. (1996, 113 minutes, color).
