Open Book Club April Meeting

Date: Mon, 04/09/2018
Time: 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Location: Main Library - Isabel Rose Café
Categories: Adult Events

The Open Book Club formed before Isabel Allende’s Open Book/ Open Mind event in November, 2017 by reading her works The House of the Spirits, My Invented Country, In the Midst of Winter and The Japanese Lover. This lively group is meeting next to discuss How the García Girls Lost Their Accents by Julia Alvarez. The Club is open to everyone and the meetings are a very relaxed, fun gathering. The book can be borrowed through Montclair Public Library through this LINK. Please register below.
“It’s a book just as much about immigration and Latin culture as it is about family conflict and struggle. I found it relatable to anyone, but also valuable because of the intimate glimpse it gives of the unique difficulties immigrants face with their identities.” — Carly Figueroa
