Date: Tue, 12/30/2014
Time: 10:15 am - 11:15 am
Location: Main Library - YA Room
Categories: Library Groups Events

Event occurs every week on Tuesday at 10:15 am.

T’ai chi ch’uan is an ancient Chinese martial and healing art. Most obviously characterized by the slow motion manner in which its choreographed movement patterns are carried out, T’ai chi ch’uan is more accurately defined by its attention to correct body alignment and structural detail. T’ai chi ch’uan principles apply globally to walking, martial application, bodywork, or any other activity for which economy of motion and efficiency of effort are desired.

Each class begins with a warm-up session designed to limber up the body and promote flexibility of all connective tissue, and includes Chi Gung (Energy Arts) exercises. After each class, enjoy a cup of healthy and delicious tea. Tea specialist and Terra owner Grace Grund will share a different variety each week and educate participants about that tea. Taught by Donald Madson, certified by the Kung Fu Academy of New Jersey.
