Parking at the Library

Dear Friends:

As you may know the Township of Montclair has closed the South Willow and South Fullerton East lots due to some construction projects.  The Plymouth Street lot has been converted into Resident Permit Parking only for the duration of these projects as well.  These changes have resulted in the Library receiving many questions about where to park when visiting the library.

Fortunately, there are many options!

Handicapped or Disabled Parking
If the vehicle has a placard, it can be parked in any metered spot for 24 hours after making the initial $.25 payment.  No additional fees need to be paid for 24 hours.  Vehicles with placards may also park in any timed parking spot as long as the vehicle is moved within 24 hours.

Street Parking
There is metered street parking along South Fullerton and there are 2 hour parking spaces on Plymouth Street.

Crescent Street Parking Deck
The Crescent Street parking deck is a block and a half away from the Library.  It costs $1 per hour to park.

United Way building
The parking lot behind the United Way building is a private parking lot.  Library customers are asked to not park here.  There are a few handicapped parking spaces and short term parking spaces along the driveway which can be used.

We understand that parking is an issue and hope that these suggestions can make your library experience more pleasant. Questions or concerns about parking in Montclair can be addressed by the Montclair Parking Utility or the Township’s Traffic and Parking Advisory Committee.
