The Sabo Collection: Fine Art by Marcella M. Sabo
The Montclair Public Library’s popular art series continues with “The Sabo Collection” Fine Art by Marcella M. Sabo, ED S. LPC on display September 5 through September 29 during library hours in the gallery of the Main Library, 50 South Fullerton Avenue, Montclair, NJ 07042.
Livingston resident, Marcella Sabo was an art major at the Monmouth University and studied at the Art Students League. Over the past several years, she has had several one-woman shows and has entered many local juried shows. She won second prize at a show in Tinton Falls and continues to exhibit locally.
Critics who have reviewed the artist’s work describe her paintings as extremely passionate, strong with bold brushstrokes and vibrant colors. The artist strives to capture the essence of her subjects. She leads the eye and then the heart with her rich luxurious palettes. Her style is reminiscent of the impressionists. Sabo stated, “When someone looks at my seascapes, I want them to feel the power of the ocean; when they see my musicians, I want them to hear the music and when they look at my war paintings, I want them to feel my emotion of tragedy. I want to elicit emotion from my viewers, not a comparison to the reality of the subject”
Take a break from your day and walk through the art gallery enjoying this spellbinding exhibit that includes seascapes, landscapes, cityscapes and much more.
In addition to being a celebrated artist Ms. Sabo, is an individual, marital and family therapist. She is also a published author, former radio host, television producer and moderator of her own TV show “A Closer look with Marcella Sabo”. She received her MA degree and Ed. S. degree from Seaton Hall University.
