MPL’s Senior Space is an inviting atmosphere for older adults of all ages. Settle into a cozy chair to read a book from our Senior Space collection or gather around a table for a special program. This space is just for you!
The Montclair Institute for Lifelong Learning fosters opportunities for in-depth, high-level learning and socialization for Montclair’s 55+ adults through free classes available through MPL’s Adult School Department. The MILL is part of Lifelong Montclair’s aging in place initiative and is funded by the Partners for Health Foundation.
State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP)
The State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) provides free help to New Jersey Medicare beneficiaries who have problems with, or questions about their health insurance. SHIP is a statewide program sponsored by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services with major funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
SHIP counseling appointments are available at MPL on Wednesdays at 1 p.m. or 2 p.m. Appointments are free, but registration is required. To schedule an appointment, call the Reference Desk at 973-744-0500 x2235 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.

Home Assisted Services
Did you know that we offers a unique, personalized service to those who cannot easily leave their homes? Home Assisted Service, or H.A.S., allows library materials – books, videos, CDs, cassettes, books on tape and information – to be delivered weekly to those who cannot come to the library in person!

Decamp Bus Reduced Fare Coupons
Senior citizens and people with disabilities are eligible for reduced fare coupon booklets, courtesy of NJ Transit. Just show your reduced fare ID card, disability card and/or driver’s license at the Reference Desk on the second floor.
